How Do I Get My Stuff? – Shipping Options

How Shipping Works at SeaDog Jack!

OK, so you’ve found something that you really like and now you’re ready to commit to buy. You add your product to your Shopping Cart, head to the checkout and, BAM, you’re hit with a shipping fee that you weren’t counting on, and in many cases, that ends the purchase from going any further!

Hey there, my name is Paul and I run SeaDog Jack out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and most of the work for the online store is done by me. I go through hundreds of vendors to find the best quality products and vendors I possible can for my customers. Whenever the discussion comes up about purchasing anything online, the topic of shipping charges will always come up! At SeaDog Jack, I go out of my way to offer my customers free shipping whenever that’s possible, but in some cases, this isn’t possible because of the size and/or quantity of the product being ordered and a variety of other factors. The destination for the products I ship can be nearly anywhere in the world and for nearly any size order. Therefore, I offer my customers many different shipping options, so don’t feel overwhelmed at the checkout as I explain below how things work at SeaDog Jack!

Let’s take a look at your shipping options:
Free Shipping
Everyone loves “Free Shipping” and many of the products you’ll find at come with a free shipping option. Usually this option means waiting a bit longer for your product, but it costs you nothing!

E-PACKET SHIPPING – Your Best Option!
E-Packet Logo
E-Packet shipping has been one of the biggest advancements in purchasing products online when it comes to items that have to travel a long way to get to your home. Choosing E-Packet shipping can reduce the waiting time to get your product by up to 50%, depending on the destination country, and usually cost anywhere from FREE to just a few dollars!

There are some conditions for a product to qualify for E-Packet shipping, the below explanation is not a deep dive into E-Packet shipping, but will give you an idea of what I mean by a product “qualifying”:

Weight of the Product
The weight of the package being shipped cannot exceed 2 kg (4.4l bs) to be eligible for E-Packet shipping. One exception is Israel, where the packages can weigh up to 3 kg (6.6 lbs).

Value of the Product
The value of any product being shipped, cannot be more than $400 (US Dollars) to qualify for E-Packet shipping.

Minimum Package Size
A normal package should not have a length less than 14 cm and width less than 11 cm.

Maximum Package Size
The longest side of a regular package cannot be more than 60 cm. Additionally, the sum of the length, width and height cannot be greater than 90 cm or order to qualify for E-Packet shipping.

As of September 2019, there are 39 countries that participate in E-Packet shipping service:

DHL Logo
I’ve already mentioned above the basic criteria a product must meet in order to come with a E-Packet shipping option, but there are also other reasons too like ordering a large quantity of one product. In some cases an individual product qualifies for E-Packet shipping, but the customer chooses to order 5, 10 or maybe even 100 of one product. I don’t know what a person would want with 100 pairs of sunglasses, but hey, who am I to judge! Large quantities of one product adds both weight and size to the parcel being shipped and therefore causing the parcel to no longer qualify for E-Packet shipping. In cases like these, you’ll notice that SeaDog Jack offers other recognized carrier options like DHL or Fedex to take care of your larger order.
